It’s week 2 of the One Room Challenge, and I’m rounding up a few options for vanity lighting because decisions are not my strong suit…but finding lots of options is!
Like I mentioned in my first post, I’m trying to maximize the storage in my bathroom because it’s our only full one and the linen closet across the hall is overflowing and needs help. This means a medicine cabinet–and a giant one at that–is a necessity.
This beaut is on its way, and it is gloriously tall and mirrored and everything wonderful. It not only needs to be large enough to store a boatload of stuff, but it needs to properly mirror anyone using the offset sink. If I had a centered sink, I probably would have gone with a much smaller one (like this–so gorgeous!) with side sconces.
Mine is about 39.5″ wide, so I’m attempting to find vanity lighting that can visually compete. My vanity is 48″ wide, so any lighting on the sides would just look too cramped. Here are quite a few I’m liking so far, and I’m hoping to make a decision by next week, eek! Please, please let me which one you would choose, and check out my moodboard in my previous post to see where this is heading!

This is where we’re at regarding the big to-do list. Hopefully I can cross off the rest of the sourcing/decisions, figure out the trim situation around the door where the tile meets the door rough-in, and get ready to paint by next week!
• Tile shower surround
• Trim out between tile and ceiling
• Trim situation around door, base boards
• Source & install vinyl plank flooring
• Paint ceiling & walls
• Source & install new lighting
• Install new medicine cabinet
• Install TP holder, towel hooks, towel ring, new outlet/switch covers
• Install floating shelves above toilet
• Paint existing vanity, add new hardware
• Hunt down a new vanity top
• Install new faucet
• Add art, decorate!
I think that’s it for now! I’ll be back next week with hopefully lots of updates and decisions made! Check out the featured designers and guest bloggers participating in this One Room Challenge–everyone’s plans are looking so good!
